Małgorzata
Sobótka

Landscape designer. She graduated from the Faculty of Landscape Architecture at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. She studied in Holland for a year, which gave her a different perspective on design. Since 2009 she has been running Studio Krajobraz in Warsaw.

Where did the idea to design gardens come from?

Małgorzata Sobótka: I always knew I wanted to design something, I just didn't know what at first. I come from a family of fruit farmers. Close contact with plants has always been there. Years ago, landscape architecture appeared on the horizon and I chose to follow it.

"The flora and fauna surrounding the development are our neighbours."

Why did you decide to become a landscape architect?

Agnieszka Gasparska: For as long as I can remember, I wanted to design space understood globally. Architecture has power, it affects people. When designing, I want to improve the quality of their lives. At present, much is being said worldwide about the humanistic role of architecture. I believe that there is nothing more human-friendly than a properly composed environment, which is why I also design greenery in public spaces. I have gained professional experience at renowned Polish universities and in Portugal at the University of Porto. There I learned a completely different approach to landscape design that I can use in my current job.
